Two NW&SC Engineers have perished in a sad accident; one of them was scheduled to marry Prize Patience, his sweetheart, on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

The police have identified the deceased as Eng. Moses Manirakiza, of Burungu Village, Muramba Sub County, Kisoro, and Eng. Kenneth Twesigye, of Rwikiniro village, Ruhama Sub County, Ntugamo.

The taxi driver, Mujuruzi Herbert, a resident of the Rukungiri neighborhood, is the third victim. After suffering injuries, thirteen people in the taxi were admitted to Itojo Hospital.

About 1:40 PM on Sunday, 3rd December, 2023, the Kahunga Trading Center collision involving a Subaru Forester with registration number UBN 350Q and a Toyota Hiace with registration number UBP 314A happened along the Ntugamo-Mbarara route.

The two NW&SC Engineers were in the Subaru Forester when the accident happened, and the police said they were traveling from Mbarara to Ntungamo.

According to the police report, the driver of the Subaru lost control owing to heavy rain, which resulted in water covering the road. As a result, he drifted onto the incoming lane, crashing head-on with the taxi.

The cars were towed and parked in the Ntugamo Police Station, and the three bodies were sent to Itojo Hospital for a postmortem examination.
