National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, widely known as Bobi Wine, has once again called for justice on the fourth anniversary of Frank Ssenteza’s death, a party supporter allegedly killed by security forces on December 26, 2020.

During a memorial mass held at Our Lady of Sorrows Cathedral in Kitovu, Masaka City, Kyagulanyi reflected on Ssenteza’s death as a painful reminder of the sacrifices made in the pursuit of justice and democracy.

“Four years have passed since that tragic day, yet justice for this crime remains elusive,” he remarked.

The mass, led by Bishop Serverus Jjumba, drew thousands of attendees, including NUP supporters, leaders, and the general public, all united to honor Ssenteza’s legacy.

Kyagulanyi expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Church and Ssenteza’s family for their resilience and steadfastness in seeking justice.

“We are thankful to Bishop Serverus Jjumba and the Church for hosting this memorial. We also commend Ssenteza’s parents for standing firm as we continue to seek justice for our fallen comrades,” he said.

He encouraged NUP leaders to draw strength from Ssenteza’s sacrifices and remain dedicated to truth and justice in their political mission.

“We must all live by the truth, for it is the truth that will ultimately set us and our nation free,” Kyagulanyi urged.

Ssenteza, who was part of Kyagulanyi’s security detail, was allegedly run over by a military vehicle during Uganda’s contentious 2020 presidential campaigns—a claim the government has repeatedly denied.

His death continues to resonate in Uganda’s political landscape, with human rights groups and opposition leaders demanding accountability.

Kyagulanyi reaffirmed his hope for justice, not only for Ssenteza but also for all victims of political violence.

“May Frank’s soul rest in eternal peace. We pray that one day, justice will prevail for comrades like him,” he concluded.
