Sobi ( Paddy Sserunjonji ) was not employed by the government, according to minister Godfrey Kabbyanga.

Kabbyanga remarked in reaction to allegations made earlier by notorious criminal Sobi that he had a tight working relationship with security personnel.

Sobi stated as much in multiple interviews, justifying his frequent escapes from justice.

On Monday, December 18, Paddy Sserunjonji, also known as Sobi, a self-described former head of the Kampala criminal organization Kifeesi, was killed in a poorly executed land eviction.

Godfrey Kabbyanga, the minister of information, asked family members to exercise patience while police looked into the circumstances surrounding his death.
